Our experts engage in in-depth multidisciplinary discussions about cases, which are presented anonymously. They offer guidance on sequencing therapies and how to optimize multidisciplinary management of HCC.

How to refer a case to the Tumor Board

This educational program helps health care providers maintain a state-of-the-art clinical practice by gaining insight into new HCC therapies and keeping up with the latest data.

Meetings are held on the first, third and fourth Thursdays of every month, noon to 1 p.m.

How to refer a case to the Tumor Board
  1. Download the case presentation form. You’ll find it in the guides & forms section, below.
  2. Fill out the form for each case you’d like to submit and email it to the VTB coordinator listed at the top of the form.
  3. Patient information is presented anonymously. For purposes of identification, a unique case ID is assigned to each case.
  4. Our team of HCC providers will review your submission.
  5. The team will reach out to you to arrange an appointment time for reviewing your case(s). Note: Referring providers must provide their own radiologist during the case review.

The virtual HCC tumor board gives us direct access to and strengthens our relationships with UCSF's multidisciplinary team. It also expedites getting appointments for our patients. We learn a lot from the discussions and are grateful for the team's time and efforts.

This service has been incredibly valuable for our patients here in the Central Valley. The virtual format has worked very well for our group. Access to the expertise of UCSF hepatologists and GI oncologists is an amazing resource.
