About me

Dr. Jennifer Olson is a pediatric endocrinologist who cares for children of all ages with a variety of endocrine disorders, including type 1 and type 2 diabetes; disorders of growth and puberty; thyroid and adrenal gland disorders; menstrual disorders, such as polycystic ovary syndrome (which causes infrequent menstrual periods, among other symptoms); and disorders of vitamin D and bone metabolism, such as osteopenia (weak bones due to loss of density) and osteogenesis imperfecta (also called brittle bone disease).

Olson earned her medical degree at St. Louis University School of Medicine. She completed a residency in pediatrics at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland and a fellowship in pediatric endocrinology at Stanford University School of Medicine. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

In her free time, Olson is a Girl Scout troop leader and endurance athlete. She completed the San Francisco Marathon in under four hours, and she raised more than $4,000 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation when she competed in the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon. Olson also volunteers on the medical team at a local summer camp for kids with diabetes sponsored by Diabetes Youth Families.
