About me
Erin Accurso is a psychologist in the UCSF Eating Disorders Program, providing individual and family therapy for children, adolescents and young adults. She specializes in assessing and treating young people with eating disorders and has expertise in family-based treatment, cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy.
Accurso's research focuses primarily on psychotherapy processes and outcomes for youths with eating disorders, including the effectiveness of treatment. She also studies mental health service delivery, with the ultimate goal of improving dissemination and implementation of research-based practices in community settings.
Accurso earned a bachelor's degree in psychology at Dartmouth College and a doctorate in clinical psychology through a joint program of San Diego State University and the University of California, San Diego. She then completed an eating disorders research fellowship at the University of Chicago through a postdoctoral training program funded by the National Institute of Mental Health.
Accurso is a member of the Academy for Eating Disorders, Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies, and Society for Implementation Research Collaboration.
