About me
Dr. Anna K. Meyer is a pediatric otolaryngologist and head and neck surgeon who cares for children with a variety of head and neck conditions, focusing especially on ear infections, chronic ear disease and hearing loss. She performs a wide range of surgeries, including placement of surgical hearing aids and cochlear implants.
Among Meyer's research interests are health disparities (how different populations are affected by illness and injury) and health care disparities (quality of care and access to care for different populations); relationship-centered communication (a clinical framework to improve patient outcomes through better communication skills); the patient experience; group facilitation; diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging; and medical education. She serves as medical director of patient experience for UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital San Francisco. She is also a coach at the UCSF School of Medicine.
Meyer earned her medical degree at UCSF. She completed a residency in otolaryngology and head and neck surgery at the University of Michigan, followed by a fellowship in pediatric otolaryngology at Lurie Children's Memorial Hospital of Chicago.
Meyer is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery and serves on the faculty of the Academy of Communication in Healthcare. She is a specialty fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
